Print it once. It works forever. Pay once if you want to edit it.

Kind of QR code
What should the code open?

Paste or type a link. We add https:// if you leave it out.

Any size, sharp edges

Static codes contain your link directly. They will work forever, even if this site disappears.

Colours, logo and more optional

How much of the code can be damaged or covered and still scan (7% to 30%).

The empty margin around the code. 4 is the standard.

Your logo stays on your device. It is never uploaded.

Why QR codes from other generators stop working

Many "free" QR code sites don't put your link in the code. They put their own link in, then forward people to yours. After a 7 to 14 day trial, or a set number of scans, they switch that link off unless you pay every month. By then the code is already printed on your menus, signs and business cards.

My QR code stopped working: why, and how to fix it

  1. Day 1. You make a "free" code and print 500 flyers.
  2. Day 14. The trial ends quietly.
  3. Day 15. Customers scan and see an "expired" page.

Static or editable?

Both kinds keep working. The only question is whether you'll ever need to change where the code goes.

Free

Static code

  • Your link, Wi-Fi or contact details go straight into the code.
  • Works forever, with no server involved, ever.
  • No account, no scan limit, no watermark.
  • Can't be changed after printing.

£4.99 once

Editable code

  • Change where it goes at any time, even after printing.
  • Pause and resume it, and see how many times it's been scanned.
  • No subscription. Never switched off for non-payment.
  • Or £19.00 for 10 codes. Credits never expire.

Our promise

We never deactivate a paid code for non-payment, because there is no ongoing payment. A code is only disabled for abuse. If we ever shut down, we will give 12 months' notice and you can export every destination.

Questions

Do the free QR codes really never expire?

Yes. A static code stores your link, Wi-Fi details or contact card inside the pattern itself. Nothing passes through our servers when someone scans it, so there is nothing for us, or anyone else, to switch off.

Is there a scan limit or a watermark?

No. Static codes can be scanned as many times as you like, and the PNG and SVG files have no branding. The PDF has an optional tiny 'Made with KeepQR' line that you can untick.

Do I need an account?

Not for static codes. Type your content, download the file and you're done. You only need an account for editable codes.

What is the difference between static and editable codes?

A static code contains your link directly and can never be changed. An editable code contains a short KeepQR link that forwards to your website, so you can change where it goes at any time, even after printing. Editable codes cost £4.99 each, once, or £19.00 for 10. There is no subscription.

Why did my QR code from another site stop working?

Many 'free' generators quietly make dynamic codes that point at their own servers, then switch them off after a trial or a scan limit unless you start paying every month. KeepQR's free codes don't depend on any server, and our editable codes are never switched off for non-payment.

Is my information private?

Yes. Static codes are made entirely in your browser. Your content and any logo you add never leave your device, and the generator keeps working offline once the page has loaded.
